Rating : - My two cents I can't really add anything to what has already been said about the picture quality of this TV, but I can relate a little of my experience in the hopes that it helps somebody.
I was between the LN46A650 and 850. Fortunately, they were side by side at my local Abt. The bezel of the 850 is slightly thinner, so the frame of the picture is skinnier on the 850 when you are watching. The 850 is also a lot thinner front to back, dramatically thinner (1.9 inches). However, the reason I went with the 850 is because the greens were noticeably deeper side by side with the 650. The Abt sales guy said they were both using default settings, so take that for what it's worth.
I used a Peerless ST650P mount (Peerless ST650P Tilting Wall Mount for 32" to 50" Flat Panel Displays (Black)) to put this on the wall. The difference between the "P" and non-"P" versions of this mount is that the non-"P" version uses security screws; other than that, they are identical.
Also, it's important to note that all of the input ports for this TV are on the LEFT side when you are facing the TV (right side if you are looking at the back). The power cable is closer to the center of the TV then the rest of the inputs (more off-center left). I had to reconfigure how I was going to run cables for my home theater setup because of this, so keep that in mind when designing your layout and buying cables. Read more ... | |
